They once more changed the name in October 1999 to Middle Tennessee Metal Detecting Club (MTMDC).

The group first convened in Franklin in the Williamson County Bank, eventually relocating to Brentwood, McGavock High School, the Woodbine Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Nolensville Pike, the West Nashville Heights Church of Christ, and finally, in the fall of 2015, to its current meeting place.

The area is rich in history and is in the geographic middle of the wonderful state of Tennessee.

A group of friends founded the Murfreesboro Metal Detecting Club with the goal of introducing their favorite activity to others in the neighborhood. 

While some of us have been detecting for years, others have just begun doing so for a few short months.
